The Plus filter has a real medical-grade surface area of thirty square feet. HEPA eliminates 99.97% of all dangerous bacteria down to 0.3 microns and 95% down to 0.1 microns. The HEPA is surrounded by 15 pounds of activated carbon loaded with zeolite and potassium iodide for efficient odor, smoke, VOC, and chemical neutralization. These substances include formaldehyde, ammonia, and benzene. Because activated carbon is porous, more surface area is available for absorption. Activated carbon is not as effective at absorbing certain chemicals as zeolite, a mineral having micropores. Potassium iodide is another mineral that helps absorb volatile organic compounds.

You can use any junior-sized filter with any junior-sized air cleaner. Therefore, simply purchase the junior replacement filter that best suits your needs in order to upgrade from a HealthMate Junior to another filter.

Filtering specifications:

Stage 1 Large Particle Pre-filter. eliminates particles that are visible to the unaided eye, such as dust, hair, and pet dander.

Stage 2 Medium Particle Pre-filter. eliminates small to medium-sized particles that are gray, blue, or green in hue, such as molds, spores, and pollen.

In Stage 3, more than 270 cubic inches of zeolite and activated carbon are utilized. eliminates chemicals, gasses, and odors.

STAGE 4: 30 square feet of True Medical Grade HEPA. 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns and 95% of all particles larger than 0.1 microns are removed.
To find out the size of your current filter, look for a label on the bottom. The model HM200 indicates a junior size filter.
